In today’s fast-paced commercial environment, one of the biggest challenges facing blind companies is time.

As demand for high-quality installations continues to grow, and as project requirements become increasingly complex, installations are taking longer. Many companies now face the unfortunate reality of having to turn down projects, disappointing customers and potentially losing out on lucrative contracts. As a blind company owner, the need for your installers to work with efficiency, expert precision, and confidence – without compromising on overall quality and customer satisfaction – has never been greater.

Fortunately, there’s a way to achieve faster installations: dedicated training.

Why invest in training?

Training is an essential investment for any blind company. By prioritising ongoing education and skills development, many common pitfalls that lead to costly delays can be avoided.

The right training – whether free or paid – can help to:

  • Reduce installation errors. Suitable training ensures your installers are familiar with the intricacies of the particular commercial blind systems they’re working with, significantly reducing the chances of installation errors.

  • Speed up installations. Installers who are comfortable with their systems and confident in their abilities have what it takes to complete projects faster, allowing them to finish on time – or even ahead of schedule.

  • Increase efficiency. Training can help your installers to understand the best ways to optimise and improve their processes. This leads to fewer delays on the job, and reduced costs for both your company and the end customer.

Our training options

At Yewdale, we offer three types of training programmes tailored to meet the diverse needs of our customers. Each programme is designed to save time, enhance efficiency, and improve installation accuracy.

1. Core Training

Our core training programme is ideal for blind companies who want their installers to master Yewdale’s most popular commercial blind solutions. This is a completely free training course. It focuses on the installation of cassette blinds, which are widely used in commercial environments across a variety of industries.

What’s included:

  • Detailed guidance on installing different cassette blind systems

  • Smart techniques that speed up installation and ensure accuracy

  • Practical demonstrations, including a live installation of an overhead cassette blind

  • Support with embracing and adopting our unique goalpost installation technique

  • A certificate upon completion to acknowledge skills gained

This training is accessible through our convenient online booking system, and is available both in-person and online. It's recommended for blind companies who want their installers to enhance their skills quickly.

2. Specialist Training

We understand that some environments present unique challenges that standard solutions may not adequately address. Our specialist training initiative focuses on anti-ligature products for high-risk settings, such as NHS facilities, mental health institutions, prisons, and other sensitive environments.

What’s included:

  • Installation training for Kestrel and Movatrack products

  • Guidance on meeting strict standards for anti-ligature systems in challenging environments

  • Instruction on the installation of healthcare cubicle tracks

This paid training programme is essential for anyone working with the NHS or other healthcare organisations. It is now a legal requirement that only those with a valid YewdaleKestrel® certificate can install this fail-safe anti-ligature system. To maintain their certification, holders must also complete a refresher course every 12 months, ensuring they stay updated on regulations and best practices.

3. Tailored Training

Recognising that each business has its unique challenges, we’re pleased to offer tailored training solutions designed around your own requirements. We understand that no two customers are the same, and our training sessions address specific needs to enhance knowledge and confidence.

What’s included:

  • Support for the specific installation challenges your team faces

  • Practical training that’s relevant to your needs

  • Techniques to streamline processes for future installations

  • Flexible formats that suit your business schedule

Available both in-person and online, bespoke training solutions are recommended for blind companies who want their installers to bridge gaps in their knowledge, or enhance expertise in specific or niche areas. With tailored training, our team collaborates closely with customers. We ensure they receive the support necessary to overcome any installation hurdles, and help them build a stronger organisation.
