Blackout for student studio apartments
The perfect blackout. June 2021 saw Vermont Construction Group’s phase two of ‘The Campus’ project drawing to completion – part of Salford University’s student accommodation offering. As part of the internal finishes for the project, our customer BBS Window Solutions supplied and installed YewdaleDefiant® blackout roller blinds.
The completed project will provide 271 high-quality self-contained studio apartments for students attending the Frederick Road campus.
The new student accommodation block needed 86 shading solutions. With the open-plan design, blackout blinds were required to prevent light seeping through to the bedroom area during lighter evenings.
Our blackout blinds were the perfect solution for controlling the light, and not to mention, the light grey colour really complimented the interior design. The durable Dart PVC fabric used is an excellent option for easy cleaning. It also comes as standard with an anti-microbial (Biosafe) accreditation, which is why it is a popular choice for demanding environments.
The R20 roller blind with a sidewinder chain mechanism is the number one choice for strength and simplicity. The Slipstream® technology makes the action super-smooth, while the double spring function delivers enhanced hold and durability.
